Dear First Responders and Front Line Workers: We appreciate you!

Aug 14, 2020 | News

Our firm would like to thank and acknowledge all first responders and front line workers. We applaud you! For the teams of doctors, nurses, EMTs, firefighters, police, cashiers, trash collectors, waiters, waitresses, postal workers, etc…a VERY BIG THANK YOU!!

We want to recognize one of our own, Kevin Morey: a 3rd generation, 16 year, volunteer fireman with the city of Northfield. Kevin is a full time employee with our firm and also gives of his time to make sure our city is safer. He says this is his way of giving back to the community. As a volunteer he is required to commit to a rigorous training, attend 50% of meetings, monthly drills, and as many calls as possible. Just last week during Tropical Storm Isaias, the Fire Department received 21 calls from residents. They ranged from arcing wires, trees on fire, a tree on a home, wires down on the road, wires on fire in the road to safety checks of residents with debris on their homes.

The Fire Department is looking for more volunteers. It does require a commitment and time. There is also a Ladies Auxiliary that helps the with fundraising. Fundraising includes an antique car show (cancelled due to Covid-19), coin drop (most likely cancelled) and the annual mailer.

Kevin and all our first responders and front line workers can inspire all of us to serve our communities. It can be as simple as holding a door for someone, a warm smile, getting groceries for a neighbor, or volunteering with the fire department. We are all struggling in some fashion and the best way to help yourself is to help someone else.
