Client Spotlight: Northfield-Linwood Kiwanis Foundation, Inc.

Northfield Linwood Kiwanis Foundation is the charitable arm of the Kiwanis Club of Northfield Linwood. The Club and Foundation are part of Kiwanis International, a century- old, U.S. based, global organization dedicated to improving the lives of children one child and one community at a time. Capaldi Reynolds & Pelosi was instrumental in obtaining the Foundation’s nonprofit exempt status and NJ sales tax exemption and continues to provide ongoing tax compliance services for both the Club and Foundation.

As a local organization the Foundation’s focus is on our local communities. Today we go beyond the Northfield-Linwood towns to serve the greater Atlantic County mainland, Ocean City and Upper Township.

For over 50 years our activities – hands-on projects such as building playgrounds as well as financial assistance – have supported causes involving Health and Nutrition, Education and Literacy, and Youth Leadership Development. Each cause is part of a continuum, helping young people develop throughout childhood into adulthood. This includes children and adults with disabilities. Our service leadership programs include the middle school level Builders Club at Northfield Community School, high school level Key Clubs at Mainland Regional and Ocean City High, and the college level Circle K at Stockton University. We also sponsor the Aktion Club of Atlantic County, a service club for adults with disabilities.

The Foundation’s flagship project is the award of $10,000 in annual scholarships to graduating seniors at Mainland Regional and Ocean City High Schools. The Foundation has also supported the Special Olympics.  When necessary, it has worked through the club to support a host of other programs including the Grace Lutheran Food Pantry, the Children’s Unit at Shore Memorial Hospital, Atlantic City Covenant House, CASA, (Court Appointed Special Advocate program) and Everyone’s Children.

The Foundation and Club are always looking for new members who wish to devote their time, talents, and fresh ideas to further our mission. You can find us online at www.norlinkiwanis.org or on Facebook at https://www.facebook.com/KiwanisofNorthfieldLinwood.

The Kiwanis Club of Northfield Linwood honored its three scholarship recipients for 2025 during its monthly dinner meeting Tuesday, June 17th, at Fitzpatrick’s Deli & Steakhouse in Somers Point. Kiwanis awards scholarships of $2,500 each to graduating seniors who served in the Key Clubs at Mainland Regional and Ocean City High Schools. A Scholarship committee made up of the trustees of the Club’s tax exempt Foundation selects from a pool of applicants each year.
